Description

The first of two varieties. Cast from solid Sterling Silver and featuring a striking green Tourmaline, the design evokes strength and radiance, supposedly “inspired by the feeling of inspiration itself.”

It is a heavy, signet-style ring bearing alternating stripes of stippled and smooth texture along the band. At the transition to the top face, there are two slots carved into each side. At the top, more alternating bands of smooth and stippled texture create a radiant pattern surrounding the extra wide bezel around the stone.

Discovery Notes

Discovered in the Kodath Mountain region of Diura. This artifact was in active use at the time of discovery, worn by a group of dwarves who called themselves simply “The Guild of Artistry.” Formed during a cultural awakening in that region colloquially known as “The New Renaissance,” this group was seemingly composed of members who all identified as artists in one way or another, and whose collective goal seemed to be the creation and refinement of novel and unusual tools, methods, and techniques to create art.

Upon inquiry, we found that these rings, along with a few others, were supposedly created by a certain dwarf, “Darvon the Inspired.” He designed these artifacts “Ta make thinkin’ o’ ideas better.” Upon initial testing, we noticed the rings seemed to simultaneously reduce inhibition and magnify suppressed personality traits during sessions of creative thinking. Other effects of using this item included reduced critical thinking ability, and increased food consumption.

This item eventually fell out of favor in the Guild of Artistry, as they soon realized that consuming certain readily available beverages had the same effect as the rings, for much less cost.

Upon acquisition, The Collector placed a “Counter resonance field” on these rings, to offset the effects imbued into the original items, so they no longer provide a strong anti-inhibiting effect.

Artifact Materials

Artifacts are crafted from hypoallergenic metals which are unlikely to cause a reaction for most people.

Certain metals, such as copper, may leave a green mark if worn on the skin and exposed to moisture.
